Read a really interesting article from the CEO of Waitrose. Net net, it would appear that the whole idea of family dinners is dying out. From my perspective, when will we ever learn? OK, I appreciate it’s not always possible, but for me the family dinner is the bedrock of a decent family life, a chance to chat, discuss, argue, catch up, laugh etc. When my wife and I met, we both agreed that something we would never change was the family meal – we both were brought up with this as a key staple of family life, interestingly both part-catholic, immigrant families. Anyway, my small piece of advice to keep a family together: turn the TV / mobile off, get a dining table, sit down, eat together and actually talk – amazing what you will find out!
